You know those event moments where you stop mid-walk and go, “Wait… that’s actually really cool”?
That happened to us at the Northwest Event Show here in Seattle.
We were walking through the show, checking out booths, talking merch, meeting people, doing the whole event thing, when we came across our friends from MOPOP, the Museum of Pop Culture. And right away, their setup caught our attention.
They had these display pieces that looked like giant speaker walls. At first, we thought they had just recreated the look. Cool concept, right?
Nope. Even better.
They were made from real speakers.
Naturally, we had questions. Lots of them. So we pulled out the camera and started talking. And just like that, our new YouTube interview series, Business Talk, got its spark.

What Is Business Talk?
Business Talk is our new video series where we chat with the people, teams, and brands we meet at events.
Nothing stiff. Nothing overly polished. No awkward “corporate interview voice” required.
Just real conversations with people doing cool work.
At Logo Unlimited, we spend a lot of time around events, custom branded apparel, branded merch, and creative experiences. But the best part of that world is always the people behind it. The planners. The marketers. The museum teams. The admins. The brand builders. The folks making the room feel alive.
Business Talk is our way of highlighting those people and sharing the fun conversations that usually happen off-camera.

Meeting MOPOP at the Northwest Event Show
If you’re in Seattle, you probably already know MOPOP. But for anyone who doesn’t, MOPOP is the Museum of Pop Culture, and it’s all about the way pop culture shows up across music, fashion, gaming, film, social movements, and more.
During our conversation, the MOPOP team explained how pop culture is a global and multigenerational experience. It’s not just one thing. It’s the music you grew up with, the movies that shaped you, the fashion that defined a moment, the games people bond over, and the stories we all keep coming back to.
Basically, it’s the stuff people remember.
And that hit home for us because, honestly, that’s what good branded merch should do too.
Not just exist. Not just have a logo slapped on it.
It should connect to a moment.
Why Memorable Experiences Matter
One of the coolest parts of the conversation was hearing about MOPOP’s exhibits and artifacts. They talked about pieces from private collections, traveling collections, and their own museum collection.
Some exhibits stay for a few months. Some stay longer. Some artifacts rotate out because they need to “rest,” which was a fun little museum-world detail we had never really thought about.
But it makes sense.
A movie prop, a musician’s outfit, or a piece from pop culture history wasn’t always made to last forever. These items were often made for a moment, then became meaningful because people connected with them.
That’s the magic.
And we think events work the same way.
A booth, a conversation, a giveaway, a custom event kit, or a hoodie someone actually wants to wear can become part of how people remember your brand. The goal isn’t just to hand something out. The goal is to create a little “oh, I remember that” moment.
That’s where branded merch gets really fun.

What Events Can Learn from MOPOP
MOPOP understands something that every event planner, marketing team, and brand team should pay attention to:
People remember experiences that feel intentional.
The giant speaker display worked because it wasn’t just decoration. It had texture. It had story. It made people stop and ask questions.
That’s exactly what great event merch should do.
A basic pen with a logo? Fine. It exists.
A custom hoodie tied to the theme of the event? Better.
A premium branded swag piece that feels connected to the experience, the audience, and the story you’re telling? Now we’re talking.
Whether you’re planning a trade show booth, employee event, conference, launch party, or onboarding experience, the best merch usually starts with a better question:
What do we want people to feel when they receive this?
Excited? Appreciated? Included? Curious? Proud to be part of the team?
Once you know that, the merch gets way easier to figure out.
We Love Seattle Events for This Reason
As a Seattle merch shop, we love being part of events like the Northwest Event Show because they bring together so many creative people in one place.
Event planners, venues, museums, suppliers, designers, brand teams, and all the behind-the-scenes pros who make things happen.
We see you.
And yes, we know events can be a lot. Timelines get tight. Details change. Someone always asks for something “simple” that is absolutely not simple. No biggie. That’s why having the right partners matters.
For us, events are where branded merch really gets to shine. Custom apparel, team gear, event merch, VIP gifts, staff uniforms, booth giveaways, custom event kits, all of it works better when it supports the experience instead of just filling a table.
That’s the difference between “free stuff” and merch people actually keep.

Good Merch Should Feel Like Part of the Story
The MOPOP conversation reminded us that creativity doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s as simple as using real speakers instead of fake ones. Sometimes it’s choosing the hoodie people will wear again instead of the cheapest shirt that ends up in the donation pile.
Details matter.
Texture matters.
Story matters.
And when those things come together, people notice.
That’s what we try to bring into every custom branded apparel and branded merch project we touch. We’re not here to make boring swag. We’re here to help brands create pieces that feel useful, thoughtful, and connected to the moment.
No awkward vendor energy. No “here’s a random thing with your logo on it.” Just friendly guidance, creative ideas, and merch that makes sense.
Watch the First Business Talk Episode
Our quick chat with MOPOP at the Northwest Event Show was a fun start to this new series, and we’re excited to keep it going.
Business Talk will be our way of sharing conversations with the people and brands we meet along the way. Some will be about events. Some will be about creativity. Some may go completely off-script because, well, that’s usually where the fun stuff happens.
